I’ve learned over the years that adventure travel is one of the best ways to reconnect with yourself. My first adventure took me to Tanzania, where I hiked up Mt. Kilimanjaro. That trip changed me forever. Since then, I’ve trekked in the mountains of Bhutan and Mongolia, stood face-to-face with gorillas in Rwanda, and dove with whale sharks in the Pacific at Socorro Island.
Each of these adventures challenged me to step out of my comfort zone, experience new cultures, and immerse myself in nature that was wildly different from anything I’d ever known. It’s been a few years since my last big adventure, and now it’s time to head out again.
This time, I’m heading to the Galapagos Islands in Ecuador.

Normally, trips to the Galapagos need to be booked 12–18 months in advance. But I was lucky to find space on a boat for March 2025. Tourism in Ecuador hasn’t yet returned to pre-pandemic levels, which means this rare opportunity is available.
